Bee is (I'm guessing) teething... dribbling everywhere, screeching, screaming, crying, more screaming.. it's exhausting and last night actually left me in tears.

I took him for his audiology appointment yesterday as we had concerns he couldn't hear due to the wax build up, we were kind of right.

Bee passed on his left ear but failed his right, they think he has a build up of gloop behind his ear drum which should sort itself out over time but we have to go back when hes 7-8 months for further tests.

They weren't too concerned as you only need to be able to hear out of one ear for speech and learning development so that is a relief, I'm also glad its only one ear, although I'm pretty sure a couple of weeks ago he couldn't hear at all bless him.

Rocket is doing extremely well, loving preschool and as inquisitive as ever but I am loving teaching and explaining things to him and am fascinated by the things he learns at preschool and comes home to tell
He is our last baby and after actively trying for a baby for 2 years, going back to using contraceptives is a difficult decision as there are so many different options out there.

In the past I have had the implant 3 times, never got on with it so in the end just gave up. I've had the depo shot too, but when adding those hormones one of the side effects is that you can gain weight and that's really not an option for me.

Condoms are the quickest and easiest contraceptive option for us and we were recently asked to review some of the newest condoms from Durex; 'Real feel'. You can see what we thought about them HERE.

Part of me is sad that Bee is our last but due to my HMS being so bad, having any more children really isn't an option for us.

Saints and Slimmers is a company with a website that tailor different diet plans and sell diet products at a very reasonable cost.

The 3 that we were sent were : Chicken Satay, Sweet and sour chicken and Chilli con carne.

S&S : Our Chicken Satay combines juicy chicken, herbs and soya sprouts in a
delicious spicy peanut sauce and comes with a separate serving of white
rice to leave you feeling completely satisfied. At only 473 calories,
our Chicken Satay diet ready meal provides a high level of your daily
protein requirements and is low in fat and fat saturates. Stores at room
temperature until you're ready to eat it and cooks in just three
minutes. Great at lunch time or in the evening.

Our review : The chicken Satay has to be my favourite that I tried out of the 3, I was expecting it not to have much flavour, as I guess when it comes to 'diet food' I kind of expect cardboard tasting meals. However I was not disappointed with this meal as it had alot of rich flavour to it and despite its portion size I was satisfied after.

S&S : Our Chicken Sweet and Sour diet ready meal is filling and full of
flavour, yet it contains just 461 calories. Low in saturated fat and a
good source of protein, this delicious Chicken Sweet and Sour will leave
you feeling satisfied. The tasty chicken, pineapple, tomato, peppers,
onion, carrots and celery, in a gently spiced sweet and sour sauce goes
perfectly with the supplied portion of plain rice. Cooks in just three
minutes and can be stored at room temperature until you're ready to
enjoy it.

Our review : I actually really enjoyed this one too, it tasted very similar to a sweet and sour chicken meal you would have from a Chinese takeaway (which is fab considering the low calories!)

S&S : Our Chilli Con Carne diet ready meal, with its juicy minced beef, tasty
red kidney beans, tomatoes, onions and fine spices isn't short on taste,
but it is short on calories. In fact, it contains just 416, but still
leaves you feeling satisfied and full up and it can help your diet plan
when you combine it with our meal replacement bars or shakes. It even
comes with a separate portion of rice. Ready to eat in just three
minutes and can be stored at room temperature until you're ready to
enjoy it.

The hubby's review : (I didn't have this one as I'm not a chilli fan or of things spicy but my husband wolfed it down no complaints and said it wasn't different to any other chilli con carne that he had had before so it was OK for me to go ahead and get more ;) )

A quick summery : I love that these meals have a long shelf life on them and they don't need to be refrigerated - on top of that they cook in just 3 minutes so they are perfect for meals on the go or if you don't want to worry about food. We will be stocking up on these meals and trying the others too.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768851965862814272.post-3245847450629235692014-03-26T17:13:00.000-07:002014-03-26T17:13:02.014-07:00Children and Technology - a guide for parents by LeapFrogNow that I am beginning to think ahead as Rocket will soon be off to primary school (this September!) It is a perfect timing for me to be sharing a guide that the lovely LeapFrog guys have put together on Internet safety and protecting children 'online'.

Rocket is a very tech savvy little boy, he always has been. He could work my iphone by the age of 1 and by 2 had a whole host of apps on my ipad! He also won't be fobbed off by toys that aren't the real deal - clever boy!

I do worry about what will happen when the time comes and he wants to spend time on the Internet, not just playing on apps and that's why it's so important to be aware of the things we can do to help keep our children safe.

Here is the guide from LeapFrog

Do you worry about the technological future?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768851965862814272.post-49469480399721826452014-03-12T01:00:00.000-07:002014-04-10T03:23:11.157-07:00Springtimes here!Gosh this winter has been dull! I'm so thankful for the lighter evenings and beautiful sunshine we have had for a few days, although it's not meant to last! (we can hope ;) )

Having a newborn over winter made it even more difficult for me to get Rocket out the house and between my hormones, a small baby and my HMS being just as bad as it was during the pregnancy I became a bit of a prisoner to the indoors.

Rocket is an amazingly active little boy, he is definitely the outdoors type and thrives outside so I did feel guilty that most of the colder weeks he was in front of CBeebies and the Disney Channel!

We were actually sent some vitamin D drops from Natures Aid that are suitable for the whole family including breastfeeding babies. So we have been giving drops to Rocket whilst the sun was no where to be seen! Hopefully it has been working, I'm not too sure how you know if you are getting enough vitamins or not but I feel happier as a mum knowing he is getting that supplement.

Now the flowers are blooming I have actually been enjoying short walks with the boys (as much as I can handle right now!) But we have many plans for the warmer weeks to come!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768851965862814272.post-28802951656863515992014-02-28T01:37:00.000-08:002014-02-28T01:39:31.639-08:00Britax DUALFIX Review
We have been reviewing the DUALFIX car seat from Britax for a good month or more now and I'm really excited to share my experience with you all.

Having Hypermobility Syndrome is hard enough at the best of times but dealing with the extra relaxin hormone from pregnancy, I really suffered after Bee was born in November.

The biggest problem I had was taking the baby car seat carrier I had in and out of Rockets pre-school as not only was it heavy, it also involved me awkwardly trying to navigate the think corridors of pegs, coats and other people trying to pass - as well as an energetic 3 year old! I was in alot of pain and also pulling my shoulder out of its joint regularly. This made me not even want to venture out and left me with constant flare ups on top of having to deal with a newborn.

When Britax sent me the DUALFIX as part of the Mumbassador scheme I was desperately excited to try it! Its a fabulous design of smooth curves - my immediate thought was how it looked like something out of Men In Black!

Its an extremely heavy seat as it needs to weigh a lot for the swivel action. I had to wait til my husband got home so he could install it, but that was relatively easy as it pops straight into the ISOfix slots in the car. (The ONLY thing I am sad about is that it can't go in the front as it needs the ISOfix, but that isn't the seats fault!)

Having seat that you can place baby in facing the door is simply amazing for me, especially after struggling sideways with our past seat. All you have to do is secure little one in the comfortable 5 point harness then press the button located behind the seat and swivel the seat with your right hand and you will hear it click into place... easy!

I think its great that it comes with a recline feature, although this can only be used when the seat is rear facing. I find the recline very comfortable for Bee.

Also, the rotate feature means you can completely turn the seat round (obviously not whilst the car is driving) but if you needed to you could access baby easily from the back seat.

Now when I drop Rocket off at Preschool it takes me seconds to remove Bee safely and I have the freedom of carrying him in with me which is so much easier!

Of course I have only had rear facing experience with Bee so far but I will update the review as he moves to forward facing.

Although this seat is on the more costly side, I would really recommend it for anyone that has joint problems like I do, it really does give you that extra help you need as a parent with chronic pain - plus the smiles you get from your baby as you put them in facing you is heart warming!

The fact that it suits up to 4 years old also makes it a worthwhile investment.
We were sent one of Skibz bibs to road test with Bee a few weeks ago now. The design we were sent is the Cowboy Star original dribble bib in red and white (you can buy it HERE).

When Rocket was a baby I didn't know much about bandana style bibs so completely missed out, but since Bee has been here, they are pretty much all the style that he wears now.

My first thought was that at £8 each, they were a bit on the costly side for us but after comparing them to other dribble bibs around, the quality speaks for itself.

Skibz are made of 100% cotton are exceptionally thick with brilliant absorbancy. I can get twice as much time out of Bee wearing his Skibz than I can from a supermarket brand dribble bib.

At the moment of course, Bee is still very young (he is 12 weeks old) but he constantly has his hands in his mouth so his clothes do get soggy - which is why we love the Skibz as it looks like part of his outfit and firs snug around his neck comfortably. There are 2 popper choices on the Skibz so it can grow with him which is great.

They also wash well so I predict it will have a long lasting job to do when Bee turns into a teething
dribbler!

If you head on over to the Skibz website, you can see all the fabulous different designs you can choose from, as well as other awesome products that they sell.
We are very pleased with Skibz and as teething approaches, we will be stocking up!

Dear Bee,

You are now officially 12 weeks old and turn 3 months on the 8th. What a whirlwind these last 12 weeks have been!

I have known you now for just under 1 year as you grew inside me and we are now discovering eachother even more.

You are amazing, you have the most beautiful soft fluffy brown hair, I love kissing it. Your eyes are slowly beginning to change from murky blue to what I'm guessing will be hazel green/brown like your big brothers. You have such sweet expressive eyes and eyelashes the girls are jealous of!

You were weighed yesterday at 13lbs 15oz so just one ounce off a stone!

You hold your head up so well and it's great for taking photos with your brother together.

You coo and smile which makes me melt. You are such a serious baby, you love frowning and working the world out, I can see you taking every detail in and it takes a lot of work to make you smile, but when you do it makes it even more magical. I love how you smile at me when you haven't seen me for a while.

You seriously love your milk! you are still mix fed, bottle and breast milk. You have 6-7 ounces a time! I adore the squidgy baby rolls you are developing on your thighs, they are so cute.

Unfortunately you are still unwell with your cold, you have been suffering with it since you were 2 weeks old bless you. I feel sad that you don't know what it feels like to breathe easily. We are getting it sorted though and you have an appointment at the hospital soon.

Bedtime is going great, I love co sleeping with you, I really look forward to nights now so I can lay down next to you and tell you stories. Your face is the first thing I see when I wake up and that makes me so happy. You are also a fantastic sleeper and no longer wake through the night!

Of course I can't list everything but I hope this will help you discover some things you didn't know about :)

Oh my gosh! this pillow has been an amazing support for me. I received it when I was pregnant with Bee and it really helped getting comfortable at night using it in between my legs to support my hips until the last month when my SPD was bad and there was no way I could get comfortable with or without!
I used it to prop myself up in bed which was useful for the horrid heartburn I suffered with.
The pillow is nice and long and filled with micro beads which mould to the shape of your body, making you as comfortable as possible. My mum was so impressed she went and got herself a Theraline pillow too!

as a photography support!

When Bee was born I was in alot of pain from the birth, especially with my fall I had and the pillow became my best friend. It literally helped me support Bee and made it possible to get comfortable enough to breastfeed.

We use the pillow every day still and I don't see me ever stopping. Its great for me because of my HMS and can support my joints in so many ways.

One of the surprise uses we have had from it is a photography support! It helps Bee with his tummy time and I get some great snaps of him and his brother.

I would highly recommend this maternity pillow, is a product that has so many uses and you will definitely get your moneys worth!
The MamaScarf is a nursing cover designed to help mothers breastfeed in public whilst keeping fully covered, making it relaxing and discrete.
I struggled badly with breastfeeding, especially in the early days and we went to Center Parcs when Bee was only 10 days old and I took my MamaScarf with me.
I never ended up feeding in public but that was due to not being able to get my joints into a comfortable enough position and with him fighting the latch it was too much.
However I ended up wearing my MamaScarf every day we were there! Not only is it stylish and actually looked funky it also gave me confidence that if i leaked through my breast pads that I would have extra cover as I was embarrassed people would see! Plus it hid my very new wobbly mum tum!
Its a beautiful piece of material made out of 100% cotton and it washes brilliantly. Its nice and big, can cover any age baby and can help with confidence to feed anywhere. I love the MamaScarf!
This was actually a hand me down from a friend but I have to include it as it ROCKS! Bee didn't have it for the first couple of weeks and none of us got any sleep at all. When we swaddled him in this blanket he started sleeping 5 hours straight! It's so easy to use and is a nice snug fit around his arms but leaves his hips and legs to move freely. He is now growing out of the one he has and I will definetly be buying the next size up as we plan to swaddle him for as long as possible. He still has a very strong startle reflex.
Thumbs up for the SwaddleMe!
We were sent the Softly Snail Baby on Board for the back window of our car. I adore this range which is cute and colourful and unisex. The sign gently sways in the window to catch the eye of the driver behind so they know you have a little bundle in your car and to keep their distance.
Unfortunatly ours managed to fall out whilst shopping sometime and we didn't notice so just make sure it's stuck on nice and secure as its a shame to lose such a pretty sign.
When Rocket was born we never had a nappy bin and ended up with bags of nappys waiting to be thown out in the black bin outside, so I was really excited to try it out.
It's been great so far, we have used it for 2 weeks and there is no smell at all coming out from the bin (its been emptied twice). Its an easy design of lifting the lid, placing the nappy in and pushing it down below the level, twisting the handle then closing the lid.
We keep ours in the lounge but it's easy to transport it to the bedroom at night for nappy free peace of mind ;)
I'm awaiting a delivery of new cassettes for it at the moment so my tip is to buy them ahead of time so you're not waiting to use it. They come in packs of three and are pretty reasonable.
Although a nappy bin is a bit of a luxury, it's one luxury I am glad to have!
It's a product
that sounded amazing to me as, suffering with my HMS, the prospect of
not having to strain to pick baby up was fabulous.

I was not disappointed! We packed the snugglebundl in our hospital bag
and in fact, the first time we used it Bee was less than an hour old and
we were still in the labour and delivery suite.

It's made of such soft and cosy material that it lives up to its name of snuggle as that exactly what you want to do!

It has a very soft head support within the blanket so when you pick baby
up it totally supports his/her head whilst their back is also supported
comfortably.

You are also able to transfer your sleeping little one from the car seat
straight into your arms or cot which is fabulous as every parent knows
it's a task to do that and once you've woken the baby that's that!

Look how snugly Bee looks in his. We took it to Center Parcs with us
when he was only 10 days old and aside from using it as a lifting
blanket (in and out of the cot was brilliant) it was also great for
keeping him warm whilst out and about.

I would recommend anyone that has joint problems like myself to invest in a Snugglebundl, for me it helped me bond without the increased pain I would have experienced bending and lifting without help.

As part of the Britax Mumbassador scheme we were sent a B-MOTION 3 to put through its paces

and review (excellent timing as Bee had only been born the week before so we got to take it away and use it!)

We chose the stunning Chilli Pepper model as I loved the red colour which is very eye catching and rich.

Unboxing the B-MOTION3 took around 10 minutes and it really wasn't that difficult to assemble. I was impressed with the quality of the fabric and how sturdy and solid the buggy felt.

One thing I love is its multi positioning feature (with Bee being a newborn the lay flat position is a must) but you can also adjust it to any position you like which helped massively when Bee needed his head elevated due to his cold.

Having a 6 foot (odd) husband, we often find with pushchairs that the handlebars are way too low and cause him discomfort to push, but Britax have really thought this through and the B-MOTION3 offers a height adjustable bar meaning that whoever pushes baby, whether tall or short, can be certain that its going to be a dream to push.. and it really is!

Having air filled rubber wheels and rear suspension you can just about go anywhere with this buggy. Pushing over bumpy terrain in the countryside is absolutely no problem and feels smooth for baby. You also have the option of locking the front swivel wheel if you need to (for those perfectly straight roads)

We live out in the country so quite often take walks down stony paths and fields and its the first buggy I've pushed out there with such ease to be honest!

Another great feature is that you can fold it one handed. It also supports itself freestanding on the ground so you don't have to worry about fiddling with different settings. That also helps keep the buggy clean when stored. It's just as easy to unfold and use straight away too. I did find it took a couple of times opening and closing to get used to it as it was slightly stiff due to being new (and the fact I have a joint problem so everything is harder for me!) but after that it really does go up in a matter of seconds.

I adore that its got a massive shopping basket underneath, storage is a parents best friend and that's where other buggies are a let down! I was able to fill it with the baby bag, coats, rain cover and shopping so that is a fabulous plus.

With the storage it also has a very handy big pocket on the back of the buggy, I love the generous size and how convenient it is to get to baby essentials without having to bend to the shopping basket and dig for what you are looking for.

The seat is very spacious (If my almost 4 year old wasn't as tall as he is then he would fit in there quite happily) there is plenty of room for a growing child to fit comfortably.

The Britax B-MOTION 3 is suitable from Birth to 17kg (4 Years) and weighs 11kg.

It is also avaliable in Neon Back.
second growth scan. Bumble was measuring big, but we already knew that
and following in Rockets footsteps we weren't surprised. I'm pretty sure
I saw his head measured at 39 weeks!

I waited and finally saw the registrar, who was new to me as my own
consultant was on holiday - something I got upset about as I was sure
they wouldn't induce me like what had been discussed earlier in the
pregnancy.

My SPD and hypermobility had got so bad, I could hardly walk and once
on a sofa would need help to get up and the pain... The pain was very
bad.

Luck was on my side though as the registrar who saw me agreed that
inducing me slightly early (38 weeks) would be the best for me and baby.
They had booked the induction but they decided to do a sweep to see if
things would get going naturally. Oh my god was that painful.. I was
writhing around on that bed! She stretched me to 2cm and said my cervix
was favourable (which only one week ago was hidden so high they almost
had their hand out my mouth! Or so it felt ;-) )

I had period like pains and irregular contractions for the rest of the
day which made walking around Sainsburys with my mum an interesting
task!

The plan was that I would have 2 sweeps a week until the induction, at home with my midwives.

The next day all signs of contractions had stopped so I arranged to have
some reflexology to get things going and after an intense session my
contractions started up once again but annoyingly by the evening they
had stopped again! I was dreading the next sweep which was booked for
Friday!

Thursday morning I woke up with a horrendous backache and contractions
and I just knew something was up. I had a really bad tummy and after
calling my dad to come collect me I walked back into my bedroom and part
of my waters went, then some more but not enough to soak through
clothes, although it felt really strange!

When I got to the hospital, mum had caught up and both she and dad were with me as my birth partners.
I got checked in the labour ward but was only 2cm and the contractions
were irregular so they sent me to walk around the hospital to try
encourage them to get stronger and regular.

I spent the next couple of hours walking around and contracting, it was
quite painful but bearable, then we headed back to the maternity ward so
I could get checked for progress (which was OK... but still very slow)

Disappointingly the doctor wanted me to go home again for a few hours, which seemed silly to me as by the time I would have got home I would have been back again! Plus with how Rockets birth panned out, there was a chance I could have had the baby at home. Though after agreeing and gathering my stuff, I walked towards the ends of the bay in the ward and the rest of my waters went. The doctor followed me into the toilet to check and then suggested I stayed in hospital as my contractions could get stronger now the waters had gone and we agreed I would go for a further walk around the hospital to get them picking up.

My gosh did they start getting stronger, the contraction pain detracted from the SPD pain very well and I was walking for what seems like an eternity as I was desperate not to let the slow down and stop again. When they got too strong I asked my parents to take me back up to the Ward and on being checked (I believe i was 5-6cm at this point) they walked me over to the labour and delivery ward (with stops against the wall during contractions!)

The contractions wernt doing as they should have been really and s they were pushing his head down my cervix wasn't moving out of the way properly and baby was back to back and at an awkward angle which was making it even more painful and that was BEFORE they hooked me up on Pitocin to force the contractions more!

I already had an IV in s i was hooked up to antibiotics as a precaution as when I had Rocket I had the infection Group B Strep and he was poorly when Born so it was always the plan to have them just in case here.
It was so important to me to have a 'normal' birth experience and to be able to hold my child for more than 2 minutes and actually have him with me and take him home after having to leave Rocket in special care for 10 days. Bee certainly wanted to be with mummy as he waited.. 19 whole minutes past midnight, entering the world on the 8th November 2013 (and not premature!!!).

I wasn't able to see what was going on (although thanks so my lovely mum I have the entire birth filmed, crowning, coming out, the lot! so now I can see what happened and didn't have to miss out on memories like I had done with Rocket). Bee was in shock though and although he was screwing his face up, he was a grey colour and floppy and not breathing properly so not only did the placing of baby straight away on chest not happen, the delayed cord clamping didn't either as she needed to whisk him to the table to wake him up.. which worked fine and he pinked up straight away.

After that he was placed on my chest and all was right with the world, I'd done it, he was here safely.
I tore again, but not quite as much as i did with Rocket although I still had to be stitched up like a quilt! I grazed too, not nice!

Mum went home and picked my husband up and brought him to meet his newest son but as the hours were very antisocial and my mum had to work the next day, he couldn't stay long and when he went I was left to get the stitches.
I didn't cry out but couldn't reach the emergency bell either as someone had wrapped it around a support handle.. I had to shimmy on my bum then get up on my knees to reach the cord and when the midwife came in she said she could hear a bang but didn't know what it was! They got me checked by the doctor when I got back to the ward but all she did was press my spine and say I was fine.. It was only around day 3 I realised I had really hurt my pelvis.
I was terrified he would cry and wake the other ladies and babies up! silly hey! but that's me lol.
We were allowed to go home the same day, at 8pm after all the newborn checks, hearing etc was done and daddy took some lovely photos of Rocket meeting Bee for the first time, it was heartwarming!
I cannot believe I am sitting here writing a post at almost 36 weeks pregnant! After having Rocket at 34 weeks (and being in hospital since 33) It's been a shock to everyone that this little man is still clinging on in there!

I've had growth scans which show he is on the top line, as was his brother so I am looking forward to bringing a good size bundle home with me and with every day he stays in there the chance of him leaving hospital with me increases and that makes me one very happy mama!

I have bad SPD now on top of my HMS pains so it has been a struggle and of course going over what I did with Rocket, this is all new territory to me! I'm the biggest I've ever been! (not weight wise though thankfully!)

My midwife popped around this morning and everything was looking great, Bumble is 3/5ths engaged and although I know as a second baby he can pop out my pelvis at any time, I'm taking this as a good sign that he's getting ready to come out for cuddles soon.. even though I feel like I'm walking with a bowling ball between my legs and feel like I'm being kicked up the middle of my girly parts!

Thinking of dates this bambino could be born (tomorrow, Halloween would be awesome ;) ) ha ha having already bagged myself a Valentines baby, how awesome would Halloween or Bonfire night be :P although probably better for bonfire night as its 'full term' then! shame you can't choose!

My next growth scan is next week at 36+4 and I shall be talking to the consultant then about
possible induction at 37 weeks if he's not here before as the pain and immobility I am experiencing is actually stopping me from looking after Rocket on my own, that and every time I get up to pee in the night I almost fall from the pain, it's a hard road!

As incredibly blessed as I am to be given these two miracle boys, Bumble is definitely my last baby as I can't physically carry anymore. I am looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life with my boys and my husband and growing up as a complete family.

Here is a great guide from the lovely people at Britax on how to decide what pushchair is suitable for you :)

From lightweight
three-wheelers to travel systems and off-road strollers – there’s
a huge array of pushchairs available to choose from, and it can be difficult
for new parents to know where to start.

Ask any
seasoned mum if she would fork out for the same first pram again and
she is likely to say no. In fact, she is more than likely to have one
or two more prams back at home in her quest to find the pushchair that
satisfied all her and her baby’s needs.

BRITAX has
been speaking and working with mums for decades, and, in the hope of
helping new mums learn from other mum’s mistakes and save some serious time and money, we
have developed a few simple tips to consider before splashing hard earned
cash.

THINK ABOUT YOUR BABY’S NEEDS…

Think comfort. A comfy baby is a happy baby, so think seats that fully recline,
are spacious and well padded. Think cosy footmuffs, smart raincovers
and hoods that protect your little ones from the elements.

Think practically. Don’t forget, the needs of a baby and toddler are very different
and they soon grow. Older toddlers will still need space for a
comfortable snooze when their batteries run low.

A boisterous
toddler (and tired mum) can be heavy handed and you need to look for
a pushchair that has good quality features that can stand a good deal
of wear and tear.

Also, think,
will the pushchair be handed down to a new sibling in a couple of year’s
time? Look for a hardwearing fabric that will work for both boys
and girls.

THINK ABOUT YOUR LIFESTYLE…

Do you need
something lightweight that you can easily get on and off buses, fold
up quickly to put in the boot of your car? Carry up a flight of
stairs? Do you need a heavy weight pram that you can pound the
pavements with, with a large shopping basket for all your food shopping?

Considering
your lifestyle requirements alongside the needs of your child are key
in selecting the right pushchair for your family. With almost 50 years’
experience in manufacturing pushchairs and travel systems, BRITAX has
something for every family and every lifestyle.

Consider the following points before you make your final decision…

If you have a newborn baby, your pushchair should have a full lie-back

He behaved beautifully and we got these incredible shots, in which he looks exactly as Rocket did at his 4D scan!

After that we had a growth scan at 28 weeks and Bumble is very healthy and growing fast and is the top line of normal so will be a big baby like his brother!

I can't believe I only have 5 weeks until when Rocket was born and 8 weeks til they would consider induction! That's crazy! I do actually hope it goes as fast as it has been.
ouse are top of the list! Most normal pregnancy symptoms though I didn't feel THIS bad with Rockets pregnancy this early on... my HMS has also flared in my hips and back but I'm grateful its not

They are also keeping an eye on my BP as its borderline high and they don't want it to suddenly spike.
That's all for now!

When I was just over 23 weeks I was having cramps accompanied with backache for 3 days on and off but it wasn't regular like contractions, however nothing I did or how I moved stopped them and the fact it was with back pain and having previously gone premature I was terrified. So after the 3rd day I called the labour ward and they told me to come in and get checked.

Baby was moving fine, hes a good strong mover in there and the midwife was shocked how hard he kicked her when she had the monitor on for just being 23 weeks!
My temperature, urine and everything was fine and the doctor came in and had a chat. It was the scariest chat ever as she had to tell me that if baby did come now they wouldn't do anything to save him.. not til 3 days later when I would hit 24 weeks.. I was then scared as I wanted to know my cervix was closed..

Which it was *massive sigh of relief*, however she said this didn't mean that I wouldn't go into labour at anytime, just that the cramps I had been having hadn't done anything to dialate my cervix - that was a blessing. Off I went home.

When I reached 24 weeks I was so happy, its a big milestone for me. I have alot of anxiety with this pregnancy and now knowing he is considered 'viable' if he was to be born he would have a chance and every week I go from not on is another milestone for my silly anxiety (which I am seeing a midwife councillor about still..)

My HMS has been awful, to the point where waiting the 2 hours for my Glucose Tolerance Test was almost too much and the back pain was so strong I was on the verge of tears. Its really hard as this little baby is wanted sooo much but the pain I'm experiencing is making me feel bad about everything.

I had a bad pregnancy with Rocket, I do remember that but it wasn't til much later (29-30 weeks) that the pain was getting too much and this time 24 weeks seems very early. I have my crutches for when I'm bad but I don't think it's SPD, just the HMS flared up.

Heat bags and paracetamols are all I can do at the moment as my cocodamol makes me feel unwell during pregnancy so I try not to take it until its really really bad.

On a good note my little man is wriggling alot and this morning he was woken by the hoover going, that made me laugh!! and Rocket has been taking about when baby comes and that makes me smile :) I adore my boys and cannot wait to see them together!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768851965862814272.post-3691475137017008652013-08-13T08:52:00.002-07:002013-08-13T08:52:54.624-07:00Royal Baby Bliss with BRITAXHaving had my last son premature at 34 weeks, I saw what little babies go through in special care and how much love is given to them to get them through those tough times in special care.

Bliss was helpful to me as a new mum of a preemie and I was given lots of support and information to help me on my way with my little boy.

No one knows what will happen with Bumble and when he will come into the world, I am hoping desperately he makes it to term but after the last experience I am mentally preparing myself just incase and I know if I needed it the support from Bliss would be there for me again.

That why I am over the moon to tell you that Britax are launching a Royal themed fundraising drive just for Bliss!!
Not even from the ice cream he had during the break!

It was so fabulous to see him having fun that I'm going to try take him a few more times over the summer.
(Que panic when I thought id forgotten how to use photoshop haha)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7768851965862814272.post-81429668519874899972013-07-25T09:51:00.001-07:002013-07-25T09:51:23.515-07:00Anomaly Scan - 21+4 weeks! The day for my 20 week scan finally rolled around! I hadn't actually been desperate for a scan like I was with Rocket as I had that gender scan at 6 weeks so I already had my scan 'fix' so I waited patiently.
I had specifically asked for a Tuesday so Bumbles daddy could be with me as he missed the last 2 scans due to work so that's what had pushed the scan date back.

I was so nervous in the morning.. I don't even know why I felt like that, I knew he was fine as he was wiggling about but I guess knowing that something could be wrong with his heart or other organ got me in a panic.

9am was my scan and at about 9:15 I was called through by a smiley looking Ultrasound tech (which made me feel better as my last one wasn't so friendly!) and I also had a trainee tech in there too which was pretty cool as I got to hear more explained than I would in a normal scan.

He is still most definitely my little boy ;) and all was going well with the scan apart from him being in a really awkward position (transverse upside down!) but she saw the brain and lips, all was OK.... then she tried to see the heart and she went quiet and seemed to spend ages looking. She then got me to lay on my side and when that didn't move him she sent me off for a walk for 20 minutes to try get him to move so A and I went to the cafe and had some food and drink and jumped up the stairs.

When we got back she said she still couldn't see properly (although he had moved *success*, printed off some pictures then told me she needed to go get another ultrasound tech.. I was terrified at that point and thought for sure there was a problem with my little boy and the wait seemed like forever and a day.

In came the second ultrasound tech who took over to look for herself and they chatted amongst themselves for a while and it was just because he was in an awkward position and finally they agreed that everything looked OK with his heart *Que massive sigh of relief*

So all in all it was a roller coaster of emotions and I was glad to walk out with a lovely picture of my second little bundle!
His daddy and I were even more excited to take him as we both love theme parks (daddy mostly!) and we were excited to share this with Rocket.

I was a little scared about going as it's really hilly there and having HMS and being 19 weeks pregnant I knew I would struggle, especially having to drive over 2 hours there and back so we planned to get a wheelchair.
He even did the massive water slide with daddy and got drenched and still loved it!

I didn't really go on many rides and after getting in the boat decided after that I wouldn't go on anything i had to climb in or sit funny!

The weather was gorgeous, about 26 out there and not a cloud in the sky which made it perfect for the new children's splash area (we stuck to the lower bit as it was super busy!)
We left around 5 pm and headed home and within 5 minutes of being in the car, Rocket was fast asleep bless him! He had such a fun day and there was nothing bad that I could say about the day!
Feelings and updateSo in a 'normal' pregnancy I'm now half way there! (if you go by Rocket's pregnancy then I'm quite over half way already! That's crazy!)

For some reason, this pregnancy is whizzing by alot faster than Rocket's pregnancy did. Maybe its because I'm running around after him, maybe it''s because I'm more chilled now.. or just because as you grow up, time disappears!

I'm quite OK with the speed of it though. I feel him move alot each day now.
He has his quiet times but then will give me a big kick and I will know all is well.

Prior to getting pregnant, I had spent a few months working hard to lose weight and I lost 2 stone and was feeling a lot better in myself and I honestly believe that helped me get pregnant after trying completely unsuccessfully for 20 months.
Recently I have been struggling with my body image and the way pregnancy is changing my body. Being a bigger girl I was aware that I wouldn't have a 'bump' for quite a while but after my stomach shrinking earlier in the year, watching the baby push out the fat was absolutely terrifying for me and I haven't really talked about it til now.

Luckily in the past week I have started to see a difference myself (I'm not too sure if strangers could tell though!) but even with the dreaded 'B' belly, my upper tummy seems to have 'popped' and I know that it's because Rocket ruined my stomach muscles and that Bumble is still only up to my belly button but have a feeling I'm going to be huge by the end of this pregnancy, especially if I go past the 34 week mark!

I love nothing more than waking up first thing in the morning and looking down to see if the bump has grown! I remember doing the same thing when pregnant with Rocket and it puts a smile on my face.

Rocket is now really into becoming a big brother, he talks about holding him in November and how my tummy is going to grow and how he will help with nappies, it's so sweet.
When I listen to the baby's heartbeat on the Doppler, Rocket has to listen to the baby in HIS tummy! He tells strangers too ha ha.

My 20 week scan isn't until July 23rd as I wanted a specific day so my husband could come so it's a little later than when I had Rockets. But as I had a 16 week scan that seems to have tided me over, especially as I already know he's a little boy.

As it's only a couple of weeks away I leave it there and I'll update with the scan pictures on the 23rd!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
